Packets
In collaboration with First Universalist Church of Rochester and the UU Church of Canandaigua, these 10-12 page documents, or “packets” for Spiritual Deepening are published each season, as a way for you to connect with, reflect upon, and directly experience the theme of the season. You can always explore the packet on your own, with friends, or in a Soul Matters circle.

Solidarity Packet Update
Following the original publication of the Solidarity packet for the 2026 Blooming season, the packet team received concerned feedback from various church members that the packet as it was didn’t fully succeed in reflecting Unitarian Universalist values of solidarity, anti-racism, and counter-oppression. Members of the packet team met with those who brought the concerns, and have incorporated much of their feedback and suggestions into an updated version that better avoids the pitfalls of tokenism, charity-over-solidarity, and saviorism, and hopefully speaks more directly to those in our community who are more disempowered, rather than privileged.
Openness to change is fundamental to our faith, and we know the work is never complete and never perfect. In the spirit of our shared Unitarian Universalist value of transformation, as part of our covenant to transform and grow spiritually and ethically, and with gratitude to those who brought their concerns forward, the packet team humbly presents this updated packet on the theme of Solidarity.
