Music & Arts History at First Unitarian
After more than 35 years, the arts continue to be a significant part of life in the congregation.
Through the years the church has sponsored film series, concert series of all sorts, and theatrical productions utilizing the creative talents of the church family as well as the greater community. The walls of the building have been adorned by the works of artists from within and without the church community. Groups within the church have hosted professional traveling performing artists who gave workshops and presentations. All of this activity has been led or assisted by arts-loving volunteers. Fund raising has motivated many of the activities but many were simply arts for arts' sake.
Good taste, artistic merit, and relevance to the church's principles and ideals have determined what could be appropriately presented by the congregation. The arts will always find a welcome here.
