During Structured Silent Time please do not enter or interrupt the silent space.
Turning Inward is a dedicated time of sitting in silence on Sunday morning. It is open to all and takes place in "The Thoreau Contemplative Room," located on the second floor of the church to the left as you get off the elevator. You are invited to come in and share silence in any way that is personally meaningful. Some come after worship and reflect on the sermon. Some come before services for a few moments and sit quietly with a personal struggle or sorrow. Some use the time for regular extended periods of meditative practice. And still others just take a quick moment to bring some calm to their busy lives. You are free to come and go as you need, except during our time of structured sitting, when we try to create an uninterrupted space with no one entering in the middle of the silence.

Emphasis is placed on stress reduction and developing mindfulness. Everything we do is done sitting in or standing by a chair! Don't worry if you have some physical limitations, come and enjoy. Dress in comfortable clothes that you would use for exercise. All seniors welcome! Suggested donation $5.
