Installation of Removeable Handrails

In 1997, as part of general refinishing and restoration of the Auditorium stage, handrails were constructed and installed in order to make ascending the stage steps less of a test of balance. (enlarge)
Four rails were fabricated which can be installed in any (or none) of six positions around the stage perimeter, permitting a flexible tradeoff between accessibility and openness as needed. (enlarge)
