Los Campesinos (The Farmworkers)

we are the farmworkers
those who know about love
who know about pain
and who know about caresses

we also know about hunger
that is not mitigated by bread
and also of thirst
that water cannot quench
but that justice can relieve

we also know how to sing
that which comes from our hearts
we also know how to plant
and how to harvest the fruit
and how to live under a bad roof

and we are people of peace
and those who desire this peace
should respect our rights
