Deep, Deep, Deeper Go

Deep, deep, deeper go.
In the holy quiet of this time we seek out the deep things of life.
Together we search the depths of ourselves,
Beyond all surface victories and defeats;
Beneath the face we present to our neighbors.
We put aside all pride and pretension;
And leave behind the trivial problems of our lesser selves.
We struggle to put out of our minds those events of our lives which only yesterday seemed so crucial, but today seem unimportant.
Here we consider the ultimate, the significant, the meaningful.
Here we look into the deepest recesses of our being to find that at the heart of us we are good - we are worthy - we are important in the grand scheme of things.
Here we explore the inner landscape to discover our finitude and frailty and learn not to despair because of it.
Here is the voice of the soul - the sound of the spirit - our soul - our spirit.
There is none like it. Let us listen. Let us listen carefully.
For in listening we penetrate to depths we never knew we had;
Deep, deep, deeper go.
